Trans Day of Visibility posterThe graduate student club “GPAWS” hosted a Trans Day of Visibility event as part of a global celebration of transgender people, and to raise awareness about the discrimination trans people still face. The event featured J Mase III, a black/trans/queer poet & educator, who led a workshop titled “Faith and the Criminalization of the Black Trans Body” prior to a dinner and spoken word performance. WGSS co-sponsored the event, which took place at the Elson S. Floyd Cultural Center.
