Minor Degrees

Students explore study options represented in academic posters.

To receive a minor, students are expected to fulfill all of the University’s requirements for graduation, as well as the course work for the given minor. Courses for the minor may not be taken pass/fail.

Minors are offered in the following areas:

  • Queer Studies
  • Women’s Studies

Queer Studies Minor

A minor in queer studies requires a minimum of 16 hours, at least 9 hours of which must be in upper-division work and taken in residence at WSU or through WSU-approved education abroad or educational exchange courses.

  • W St 369: Queer Identities in Contemporary Cultures [ARTS] [H,D]
  • W St/Soc 385: Introduction to Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Studies [DIVR] [T,D]
  • W St 485: Theoretical Issues in Queer Studies [M]

Choose at least 4 credit hours from the following electives:
