The WGSS 2023 Graduation and Awards Celebration took place on April 27th at the Foundry in Downtown Pullman. Students and faculty came together and recognized the accomplishments of graduating seniors and WGSS majors and minors who received scholarships and awards. Scholars included Olivia Detloff and Beeler Lile, who both received Pauline E. Thompson Scholarships in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies, and Veronika Akers and Olivia Detloff (again), who received Johanna Busek Scholarships. WGSS awarded five creative and scholarly achievement awards. We celebrated all those graduating, with a special recognition for Alecia Burgett as the 2023 WGSS Outstanding Senior in the College of Arts and Sciences. Alecia is headed to the University of Kansas to begin a PhD program in their Department of Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies! WGSS at WSU wishes all success in their next steps post-graduation and congratulates all for awards and scholarships earned!
